So do not fear…

YHWH Shammah – the LORD is there. The LORD is with you, my dear friend and He says, “Fear not, for I AM with you.” – Isaiah 41:10. But one of the translations says, “So do not fear, for I AM with you.” (NIV).

Why “So do not fear…”? Most of the times, we are afraid because we are scared that the LORD has left us due to our shortcomings and sins. While these things could alienate us from the LORD eventually, when we repent and confess our sinful ways to the LORD, there is something He tells us. In the previous verse (Isaiah 41:9) the LORD tells this…

I have chosen you and I have not rejected you.
SO, DO NOT FEAR, I AM WITH YOU.

Yes, dear child of God, our LORD has not rejected us. HE Himself chose us even before we were formed and HE has not rejected us. When we confess our sins, the blood of His Son and our Savior Jesus Christ washes away those sins, sanctifies us and makes us righteous before the eyes of the LORD. So, God our Father has not rejected us. So, let us not fear. Let us not be afraid. For the LORD Almighty is with us. HE is YHWH SHAMMAH.

Romans 13:6-7“This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”
