It is very great
The women who came to the sepulchre had only one thing in their mind. It was not the death of our LORD Jesus Christ, but the stone that was blocking the door of the sepulchre. And Mark adds that the stone was very great.
There are times in our Christian life, we come to the LORD, hoping to rejoice in His presence and to worship Him all our strength and might. But, no matter how hard we try, there is something deep in our heart that is weighing us down.
It could be your spiritual status. Probably there is some deep rooted sin that does not just go away, no matter how much you have dedicated your life to Jesus.
It could be your financial condition. Though you have tried your best to put all your cares on our Lord, the conditions have become so dire, your faith is badly shaken and you cannot take your mind of your finances.
It could be a debilitating disease, that is causing so much hurt to you and to your family. You desperately want to face the disease with a smiling face, but it seems to be just impossible.
It may be a nagging worry about your future and the promises that the LORD has made. Time is just passing away, but you have not seen the fulfilment of those promises and now you are worried. All your prayers seem to be blocked by a stone that is very great.
Dear friend, take heart. Our Saviour knows the heavy burden that is in your heart. Jesus Christ knows how much you wish someone will roll away this very great burden from your heart. Come to Him, come to Jesus, with all your burdens, worries and cares. Nothing is too small for Him and nothing is too big for Him. Come to Him, even with your questions and the power of His Resurrection will be evident in your life. And when you look up, you will see that the stone has been rolled away.
May the Name of Jesus Christ alone be magnified.
|James 5:16“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
