Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He teaches sinners in the Way. – Psalm 25:8
What a beautiful verse! I was a sinner and the LORD chose to teach me His way, not because of anything good or upright found in me… but because He is good and upright.
How sad then it is that we forget this, as soon as we cross-over from being a “sinner” to “righteous” in our LORD Jesus Christ. How judgmental we become of others, who are still “sinners”. How the same LORD Who is good and upright for us when we were sinners, becomes the LORD filled with wrath and anger.
Let us proclaim the same God Who taught us in His way, when we were still sinners… the good and upright God, to those who are still sinners. If the LORD is merciful and gracious enough to save us from our sinful ways, then He surely will be so to others too. Let us not forget that just because we switched from being sinners to being righteous, the LORD also changes… Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He teaches sinners in the Way.
